Harnessing evolutionary biology and new approach methodologies to assess chemical risks to humans and ecosystems
The Comparative Toxicology & Risk Lab (CTRL) investigates how environmental chemicals affect organisms across species and ecosystems. Our research integrates toxicology, evolutionary biology, and environmental science to improve ecological risk assessment and develop next-generation testing systems. By comparing responses across species, we aim to better predict chemical impacts on biodiversity and environmental health.
We are located on the campus of the University of Birmingham in the School of Biosciences and the Centre for Environmental Research and Justice
